San Antonio School for Inquiry and Creativity - "Understanding Matters"
When High School Seniors progress from student to career professional; a metamorphosis takes place. Graduation propels individuals into the so-called "real world"- an ever increasingly competitive career field, having been institutional prepared or systematically unprepared. Prior minimal hands-on learning in traditional schools and learning institutions are often supplemented with a mostly lecture-based learning experience, or what is termed traditional education. At San Antonio School for Inquiry and Creativity, we pride ourselves on the arts-infused learning curriculum, giving students an alternative to learn in a way that has empirically increased state mandated test scores and increased annual graduation rates and retention percentages; coupled with a newly revealed and instilled personal pride and achievement. This makes the student more adaptive to the labor force, bringing with them a specially developed work ethic merged with an improved workforce readiness for today's ever changing economic climate. Students are taught individuality is important and everyone learns at different rates, exacerbating a need and recognition for practical applications.
Each student is given a chance to personally select from any number of exemplary arts electives, drawing from a moderate database of Art Departments including but not limited to: Fine Art, Dance, Film, Acting, Music Production, and Music Performance.
